Wadashi zanmai is a packaged soup stock, which is made by blending a soup stock of dried bonito with Shiitake mushroom, dried seaweed, and vegetable extract, and it accentuates Umami (savory taste) of foodstuffs. Everyone can easily make an authentic Dashi by just boiling Wadashi zanmai in a pot. Compared to granule soupe bases, Wadashi zanmai is richer in flavor and the extracted volume is greater than Dashi made from shaved dried bonito, so the cost per portion is cheap.
